Automatically invalidate/recache with plugin 17 Mar 2015 14:38 #1310

Hi,

thanks for the great caching plugin.

I have two questions to the new "Edit Page Invalidate" feature:

1) Does it just work when you edit pages on the frontend or also on the backend?

2) Do you have a hint how I could write a/adapt the plugin to invalidate or even recache the home page (url /) every time an article is saved (at least from the backend)? My problem is that I use a module on the starting page which needs a lot of time for building and I'd like to cache it as long as no new article is created (or edited).

Thanks in advance,
maun

To your questions :

1. "Edit Page Invalidate" feature works only when user is logged in Joomla frontend. When you need similar feature for backend registred users then use 'Mark' or 'Renew' mode of JotCache component. During active state of such mode you can easy recache frontend pages simply visiting them (see JotCache Help).

2. It needs special written system plugin (acting on onContentAfterSave Joomla event) which can delete homepage from the cache.
