Because of processing speed considerations cached pages are NOT stored compressed into cache storage. If you have some good reason to do it then is possible to patch JotCache code in plugin save methods with requested compression function.

Hi,

Can you tell the file name and line number (if possible) to be changed to store the cached pages in gzip format for file cache in jotcache.

It is necessary to change/review all functions included in JotcacheFileCache.php which deals with store and read from the file system. Gzipped should be files stored in /cache/page directory with exclusion of files ending with :
'_expire'
'.autoclean'

Each cached page has two related files in file cache e.g. :
b3c3ad5e6e368259ecbb4b8331e0d4d2.php
b3c3ad5e6e368259ecbb4b8331e0d4d2.php_expire

You have to leave unchanged 32-characters long name of the file after gzip because this name is used as unique ID for each cached page.

Hi,

In jotcache plugin's backend, there is a parameter 'Cache Lifetime'. Can you tell me what should be the ideal value for this parameter and what is the unit of this?

At first time set cache lifetime to
1440
. This value is in minutes and 1440 min. equals one day.
